Rachel Murphy's parents are Robert and Jane Murphy of Franklin Township, Fayette County, PA. Robert and family were living there as early as 1785, and he remained there until he died in 1793. His children were Robert, Abner, John, Benjamin, Sampson, Mary Leonard, Patience Patrick, Sally(Sarah)Gaddis, Rachel Evans, and Jane. These names are all taken from a document at the Fayette County Courthouse.1
He and Margaret Resler were married before 1797.
