Jane Harris was born on 11 October 1816 in Clark County, Indiana.1,2 She was born in 1817 in Kentucky.3 John Dowden Jacobs and she were married on 7 August 1834 in Clark County, Indiana.2,4,5,6 John F. Downs and she were married on 9 April 1867 in Clark County, Indiana.6 She died on 24 October 1880 at age 64 in Utica Township, Clark County, Indiana. Mrs. Jane Jacobs, aged sixty-three, residing with her son George Jacobs, on Canal street, died at midnight last night, after six months' of suffering from gathering in the head and neuralgia. The remains will be taken to the residence of J. B. Jacobs, Watson, today, and the funeral will take place from New Chapel at ten o-clock tomorrow.2,7 She was buried after 24 October 1880 at New Chapel Cemetery in Utica Township, Clark County, Indiana.8,2,9
