Biography

Matthew Stockberger and Sarah Bossert were married before 1788.1
Matthew Stockberger was also known as Mathias Stockberger. He was taxed in 1768 in Bedford County, Pennsylvania.2 He witnessed the oathallegiance of Thomas Winter on 30 July 1778 in Pennsylvania. Each of these men took the oath between 1777 and 1779 -- see the document for specific dates.34 Matthew Stockberger witnessed the land transaction of John George Bossert on 9 April 1810 of in Unity Township, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania. 245 acres that Abraham Fiscus purchased for $450 in 1805.5,6,7
